The Sixth Pay Commission report concerning salary revisions for West Bengal government employees has not been presented in the state Legislative Assembly, according to an official response under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. Devprasad Haldar filed the RTI application seeking confirmation about whether the salaries of state government employees were being revised as per the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.
The West Bengal Assembly Secretariat replied that the report has neither been submitted to the Assembly nor is it available with the Secretariat. A joint officer from the Secretariat stated that reports related to salary and pay structure are usually presented in the Assembly for discussion, after which further actions are taken based on the outcomes of these discussions.
Devprasad Haldar has reportedly applied to several government offices over an extended period requesting the full Sixth Pay Commission report. The lack of availability of this report in official channels has been confirmed by the Assembly Secretariat, indicating that the formal presentation and discussion of the report in the Assembly remain pending.
